Rabbi Gil Steinlauf

Rabbi Gil Steinlauf is the Executive Director of the Center for Jewish Life and the Jewish Chaplain at Princeton University. He graduated from Princeton in 1991 and was ordained as a Conservative rabbi from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 1998. Prior to coming back to Princeton, he served for over 20 years as a congregational rabbi, most recently in the Washington, DC area as the Senior Rabbi at Adas Israel Congregation and at Kol Shalom. In addition to his rabbinic work, Gil was the founder and director at the Hineni Institute for LGBTQ Jewish Leadership, where he educated and inspired cohorts of LGBTQ Jewish professionals to take on leadership roles proudly as queer Jews in Jewish organizations. Over the years, Gil has been involved in innovative change within the Jewish community, starting programs like the Jewish Teen Leadership Institute and the Jewish Mindfulness Center of Washington.
