On May 9, 2024, JCPA officially launched our new Action Networks — focused on Combating Hate and Bigotry and Protecting Democracy to bring together national and local Jewish organizations alongside allies in the fight to confront rising antisemitism and bigotry and protect American democracy at this critical moment.

This work is rooted in the recognition that Jewish safety is inextricably linked with the safety of all communities and our inclusive, pluralistic democracy. Fighting bigotry and protecting democracy requires us to counter antisemitism – and countering antisemitism means fighting all forms of bigotry and protecting our democracy.

The launch event featured remarks from Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, and JCPA Board Chair Leslie Dannin Rosenthal, as well as a conversation between JCPA CEO Amy Spitalnick and Race Forward Executive Vice President Eric Ward, moderated by JCRC Bay Area CEO Tyler Gregory. We also heard from the co-chairs of our two Action Networks: Charleston JCRC Director Brandon Fish, Broward County JCRC Director Evan Goldman, JCPA Board Member Kiyomi Kowalski, and JCPA Vice Chair Corey Shapiro.

Now it’s time to act. From countering antisemitism, to advancing voting rights, to protecting students on campus, these new Action Networks are mobilizing Jewish Community Relations Councils, local synagogues, Jewish Americans and allies across the country to stand up for our values and our rights.

Take action now.
