President, JCRC Directors Association

Daniel G. Goldwin

Dan Goldwin is the Chief of Public Affairs Officer for the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago, which includes the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and Government Affairs Department.  The JCRC is the umbrella body for more than 40 Chicago-area Jewish organizations and operates as Federation’s community relations arm.  JCRC, through coalition building and public and private advocacy, works on the frontlines of countering antisemitism, working to keep Israel safe, strong and secure, and strengthening inter-group relations to promote mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation.

The Government Affairs team’s mission is to promote public policies and legislation at all levels of government that support the health and human services provided by our network of affiliated agency partners; enhance the interests of the Jewish community both domestically and overseas including Israel; build and strengthen relationships with elected and appointed government officials; and educate and engage our Jewish community in public policy advocacy.

Dan joined JUF in August 2018 after working at AIPAC for four years as Midwest Regional Director and Deputy Director.  Prior to joining AIPAC Dan was the Midwest Executive Director for Israel Bonds for three years, and before that was a litigator and consultant for 10 years at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, Navigant Consulting, Alix Partners and Lexis/Nexis-Applied Discovery.  Dan graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Law in 2000, and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994.

Dan serves on the City of Chicago’s Commission on Human Relations, to which he was appointed by former Mayor Lori Lightfoot.  Dan is also a graduate of the Mandel Institute for Nonprofit Leadership’s Executive Leadership Program and Spertus Institute’s Leadership Certificate in Combatting Antisemitism.

Dan grew up in South Bend, IN and lives in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood with his wife, Marna Goldwin, CEO of The ARK, and his youngest daughter, while his oldest daughter is a student at the University of Michigan.
