JCPA Statement on Albany Synagogue Shooting

JCPA CEO Amy Spitalnick released the following statement upon news of shots fired at an Albany, NY synagogue that, thankfully, involved no injuries.

“The shooting at an Albany synagogue tonight appears to be the inevitable result of crisis-level  antisemitism — fueled by extremists exploiting the war between Israel and Hamas to target Jews here in the United States and around the globe.

From targeting synagogues (my own included), to canceling menorah lightings, to going after Jewish-owned businesses, all of this is intended to normalize hatred and violence against Jews.

Enough is enough: no matter how one feels about Israeli policy or actions, targeting Jews as ‘retribution’ is antisemitism — and every person of conscience must unequivocally reject it.”
