The Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) congratulates Prime Minister – elect Ehud Barak on his victory in last month’s national election in Israel. We also express our appreciation to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his many years of devoted service to Israel and the Jewish people.

The JCPA applauds Prime Minister – elect Barak’s commitment to reinvigorate the peace process with the Palestinians, as well as with Lebanon and Syria. We commend him for his strong desire to promote greater unity and harmony within Israeli society and between Israel and Diaspora Jewish communities.

The JCPA is ready to work in close partnership with a new Israeli Government in the months and years ahead as Prime Minister – elect Barak seeks to achieve these vitally important objectives.
