Judy Smith

Judy L. Smith is a Federation Board member and immediate past Chair of the Jewish United Fund (JUF)/JF Government Affairs Committee. She is also Executive Vice Chair of the Michael Reese Health Trust and chairs its Governance Committee. Additionally, Judy sits on the Board of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA). She has been involved in JUF/JF for many years, holding various leadership positions in the Young Leadership Division, National Young Leadership Cabinet, Womens’ Philanthropy, Lawyers Division, and CJESeniorLife, where she served as Chair. She was honored with the Federation’s Young Leadership Award.

Judy and her husband Michael are members of North Suburban Synagogue Beth El where she has served on the Board. Professionally, Judy is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Northwestern University School of Law. She was a litigation partner at Altheimer & Gray and chaired the Hiring and Summer Associate Committees. Judy and Michael have two sons, one almost daughter-in-law, and live in Deerfield.
