We condemn the murder of Dr. Barnett Slepian, an obstetrician who provided a full range of reproductive services including fertility counseling, contraception and abortions. Dr. Slepian, the seventh victim of anti-abortion extremists since 1993 was shot to death through his kitchen window following his return from synagogue this past Friday evening.

We denounce this act of terrorism and the use of murder and violence to achieve a political end.

We urge authorities to act swiftly to apprehend and bring to justice the perpetrator of this heinous crime. We must enforce the rule of law in a civilized society.

The JCPA Board of Directors extends its deepest sympathies to Dr. Slepian’s wife and four children.
