New York – The JCPA welcomes the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and planned move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The Israeli government, its parliament, courts, and prime minister, have been located in Jerusalem since just after the birth of the State. We agree with the President that Israel, like all countries, has the right to determine the location of its capital.

JCPA also supports the Administration’s commitment to the vision of two states living side-by-side in peace and security, and encourages the US to continue its efforts to bring the parties together for direct negotiations.
