JCPA Applauds the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Ruling on Refugee Executive Order

by Haya Luftig

New York, NY – The Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) applauds the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling against the White House executive order, which would prohibit the entry of people from six Muslim-majority countries for 90 days. The JCPA joined an amicus brief to the Fourth Circuit filed by the Anti-Defamation League.

In response to the ruling, David Bernstein, President and CEO of JCPA, issued the following statement: “It’s crucial that we as Jews, ourselves once refugees and immigrants seeking refuge in this great country, stand up for our values and those of our nation. We have a tremendous stake in ensuring America remains an immigrant nation. While the battle is far from over, this ruling sends an important message to refugees around the world that America will continue to serve as a safe haven for refugees fleeing persecution.”
