Rabbi Neal Gold, Association of Reform Zionists of America (ARZA)

by Haya Luftig

Rabbi Gold worked as a Rabbi in congregations – New Jersey and Massachusetts – for 18 years, before joining ARZA last year as their Director of Program & Content. As one of the leading voices of progressive Zionism today, ARZA has two main missions: to promote and expand the place of Israel in American communities here, and to strengthen the Reform movement in Israel. ARZA is the Zionist arm of the Reform Jewish movement in America. Rabbi Gold is also doing graduate work in Near Eastern & Jewish Studies at Brandeis. For years he worked with the Ziv Tzedakah Fund, which specialized in the off-beat and creative ways that people do the work of Tikkun Olam. His passions include music, flyfishing, and books, and I’m learning to play electric bass.
