This Friday, communities throughout the world will be celebrating the first night of Passover. This holiday is rich in symbolism and history and touches on many themes that are meaningful for us today. Over the next couple of weeks, JCRC’s across the country are hosting community Seders that relate some of the themes of the holiday to modern day issues such as poverty, slavery, and interfaith partnerships.
This year Earth Day coincides with the first night of Passover. For this special occasion, the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life (COEJL) has prepared the educational ‘Earth Justice Haggadah’ with specific resources to highlight the environment and the dangers of climate change.
Additionally, several JCPA member agencies, such as the Union of Reform Judaism, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, and the Orthodox Union, have prepared extensive resources pages with a wealth of information, additional texts, customs and other resources for Passover.
