Violence in Israel is destroying families, diminishing security, and placing further down the horizon any hope for future peace, justice and security
Washington, D.C., – In response to the recent wave of violence and destruction in Israel, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) is issuing the following statement:
A series of violent assaults have left several Israelis dead and others wounded. The intent of these attacks is to harm more than their immediate victims. Their real target is a peaceful future – to deepen mistrust and fear. This violence is destroying families, diminishing security, and placing further down the horizon any hope for future peace, justice and security. We stand in solidarity with the people of Israel at this difficult time. We also commend those Palestinian leaders who are trying to deescalate the tensions, particularly when they stand against disinformation and conspiracy theories about Israeli intentions regarding the Temple Mount.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all victims and the wounded – and for all those who strive for a more peaceful, just, and secure future.
JCPA, the public affairs arm of the organized Jewish community, serves as the national coordinating and advisory body for the 16 national and 125 local agencies comprising the field of Jewish community relations.
