This coming week, a national BDS conference will take place at the University of Pennsylvania, however a new campus-community endorsed positive campaign to educate students about Israel has formed in response. Meanwhile, efforts to demonize and divest from Israel at Rutgers University in New Jersey and Carleton University in Ottawa have been blunted with steps being taken to shift the conversation and create a constructive dialogue. Additionally, an Israel Apartheid Week has been scheduled for February 26-March 3 in the U.S. and March 5-9 in Canada, and IAN will work to support communities as these dates near.
IAN is providing early warnings and strategic support while sharing lessons learned and best practices from these situations to enable the field to better counter and turn these challenges around. IAN is mobilizing the collective resources of Federations, JCRCs and member agencies and partner organizations including Hillel, the Israel on Campus Coalition (ICC) and JAFI both continentally and locally to identify and implement solutions.
